Ocean City to Coney Island

I grew up in Northern Virginia, just outside of Washington D.C., and my family would vacation in Dewey Beach, DE in the summers which is about 30 minutes away from Ocean City, MD. We would drive into Ocean City occasionally and hit up the boardwalk, play in the arcades and ride the rollercoaster. So being back in Ocean City recently with the AVP Tour brought back a lot of fun memories from my youth. Being so close to where I grew up, I had close to 20 friends and family come to the event. A friend has a beach house in the area where we were all able to get together and have a cook out that Saturday night. It was nice to get to spend some time with all of them since I live 3,000 miles away and don't make it back to the east coast for leisure that often.





While in Ocean City, I stayed at the Atlantic Hotel which was about 20 feet away from the AVP site. I loved being able to walk out the hotel, cross the boardwalk and right into the AVP action. I must say, my favorite part of the hotel was the location of sink in my room (photo below).






Now it's off to Brooklyn, NY for the 8th event of the AVP season on Coney Island. If you can't make the event, the Semi Finals and Finals will be shown live on Universal Sports and NBC. The Semi's will be on Universal Sports (2pm ET) and the Finals will be on NBC (4:30pm) Saturday (women's semi and finals) and Sunday (men's semi and finals). Also, check out the new updated section of avp.com, Volleyball Nation. Who knows, you may find a section in there about DJ Roueche.
